August 16, 2010 - South America Snow Sessions Rips Slopes, Goes Green

Tomorrow, August 17, 2010, through the incredible support of South America Snow Sessions (http://www.sasnow.com) and the talented musician, Marc B, (http://www.marcbmusic.com/), GGN will be fortunate to take part in an extensive and ongoing sustainability program currently in operation at the SASS compound.

Green Guide Network has always been a proponent of raising awareness, helping others in need, as well as contributing our personal time and resources to sustainability projects both in our own country as well as abroad. In the past GGN has explored philanthropic partnerships with Heal the Bay, Surfrider, The OC Coastkeeper, TOMS Shoes, and The Laguna Canyon Foundation.

In its sixth year of operation, SASS, located in the picturesque city of Bariloche, Argentina on the shores of Lago Nahuel Huapi touts everything from "steep couloirs, wide open powder fields, cliffs, cornices and cat tracks to spacious "enchanted" forests and technical bamboo jungles...and that's just inbounds". In addition to incredible terrain and breathtaking beauty, SASS is committed to offsetting the inherent environmental effects of traveling to fulfill our passion for new places, new slopes, and broadening our personal boundaries.

This summer, South America Snow Sessions will be engaging in various projects aimed at reducing the emissions from their own vehicle use, offering a carbon offset program for clients, increasing the energy efficiency of their lodging, as well as the construction of greenhouses built from recycled materials and discarded plastic water bottles which will ultimately be used to produce fresh, local produce for both their clients and the local population.

It's clear, South America Snow Sessions is doing an incredible job connecting individuals to the snow covered slopes and creating lifelong memories for all those who visit - but in addition they are proving that it's possible to have fun, run a successful company, and be conscious about the world we live in as well.
