June 15, 2010 - Delicious Meets Healthy: Eat at Beautifull

Beautifull was founded by Eric Greenberg, an entrepreneur with prior successes in business but who had over the years not been successful in maintaining his own personal health.

Determined to make positive changes without resorting to a diet plan, Eric organized a chef, a nutritionist, and a doctor - to help put him on the path to wellness. Through this wellness and learning process he lost 60 pounds and gained a new sense of energy and vitality, but more importantly: he became passionate about helping others do the same.

He began to envision a company that would allow people to eat sumptuous, nutritionally balanced meals without incurring the expense of a personal chef - thus Beautifull was born.

Green Guide Network was able to speak with Eric recently regarding his experiences, process, and vision for Beautifull. Here is the interview:

Green Guide Network: What are some of the challenges you have faced (or continue to face)?

Eric Greenberg: "People are very receptive to clean, healthy food that is great tasting.  We have to get more people in America to understand the direct correlation of health and living well with eating. This has a direct effect on healthcare costs and the ability for people to remain economically viable, given the increase in chronic disease.  We are also challenged by a lack of clean ingredient supply.  We need to have more demand on a national basis, so that people like us have the supply to provide the food that people need."

GGN: What sets Beautifull apart from your competitors or other similar businesses?

EG: "At Beautifull, we focus on taste, ingredients and health and the balance of all three. No other casual dining concept does a combination of all three. It is part of our mission to make the best food you can eat, leading with taste to deliver health and happiness."

GGN: Do you work with any local charities or non-profits?

EG: Some of the main charities I support include the Shoah Foundation, Global Green (http://www.globalgreen.org/) and locally, California Pacific Medical Center and UCSF Medical Foundation.

GGN: Do you have any future plans for expansion?

EG: "We opened the second location of Beautifull in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco on January 9th. We have plans for two more locations through 2010."
